Summer Social Skills Programs

Posted by achimotaAdmin

The Achimota Centre for Children with Autism is offering two, four week, summer social skills programs. The Social Skills Program has low child to staff ratios and many opportunities for co-operative interaction facilitated by trained staff. Participants will learn in a fun, safe and inclusive environment.

The activities will allow children to be involved in a variety of social interactions while learning or reinforcing social skills. Such topics as turn taking, sharing, coping with anger, conversation and much more will be addressed.

The summer programs will run for four weeks, from 3PM – 5PM beginning on Monday, July 4th and Tuesday, July 5th, 2011. This session will end the week of July 25th. The second program will run from 3PM – 5PM, beginning on Monday August 8th and Tuesday, August 9th 2011. This session will end the week of August 29th, 2011. The option to attend one or both afternoons in either one or both sessions is available. Age group to be determined.

Cost of the 4 week program (one afternoon) is $150 (families in receipt of SSAH or ACSD may be able to use their funding for this program. Please contact your MCYS Special Agreements Officer).
