FALL – CRISIS PREVENTION & INTERVENTION WORKSHOP

There is no charge for the Crisis Prevention and Intervention Techniques workshop. The workshop is a 2 part series and you MUST be able to attend both dates. The workshops will be running October 07, 2009 and October 14, 2009 from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm.
This workshop will focus on methods of preventing the need for physical intervention and an orientation to personal safety techniques.
Workshop Description: Any type of crisis incident – from verbal outburst to physical aggression – is an unsettling experience for everyone involved. This workshop will focus on methods of preventing the need for physical intervention and an orientation to personal safety techniques. Participants will learn how to recognize and respond effectively to the warning signs that someone is beginning to lose control while also learning how to deal with their own stress, anxieties and emotions when confronted with these challenging situations. Discussion will highlight experiences of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Please note this is NOT a Certification Course.
